Detoxification
It’s a toxic world out there
Never before in history have our bodies been exposed to such large amounts of toxic chemicals. From home furnishings to food additives, solvents and countless other products, chemicals are part of our lifestyle. Many harm the body, though the effects are often subtle. Many degrade slowly so their effects are cumulative. Avoiding exposure is anything but impossible. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), toxic chemicals are the worst environmental problem in the nation, responsible for up to 80% of cancer deaths.
The Link Between Obesity,Cancer, and Toxicity (Part 1)
The rise in worldwide obesity rates parallel the increase in environmental toxicity. Meanwhile, cancer rates continue to rise; the WHO believes that cancer rates may increase by more than 50% by 2020. Meanwhile, more studies show that cancerous tumors are storehouses of high concentrations of toxic man-made chemicals.
The Link Between Obesity, Cancer, and Toxicity: Detoxifying the Body (Part 2)
In the last article, we explored the link between obesity, cancer, and toxicity. Several important studies were discussed, notably a study showing that living near a toxic waste site increases the risk of hospitalization due to diabetes. Another epidemiological survey from the UK showed that the counties of the UK that suffer from the highest levels of industrial pollution also demonstrate the highest rates of obesity.
How toxic are you?
Everyone around us today experience’s the effect of our toxic environment. Some experience more severe effects than others based on specific geographic location, dietary and lifestyle choices, and overall health.
The fact is, toxicity, be it heavy metals such as lead, mercury etc, or synthetic chemicals such as sodium laureth sulfate (commonly found in shampoo) can be contributing or a causing factor for any disease or ailment in the body. Anything that affects our immune system negatively, makes us susceptible to opportunistic infection and disease.
Symptoms of toxicity,
- Headaches
- Mood swings
- Anxiety
- Fatigue
- Insomnia
- Water Retention
- Mental Confusion
- Joint pain
- Hair loss

The link between aspartame and brain tumors: What the FDA never told you about artificial sweeteners
This particularly nasty substance should have never even been approved for human use. In fact, had it not been for some fancy footwork by those in power in the FDA, it never would have. Early experiments using low, medium and high doses with aspartame all found dramatic tumor increases in test animals. These included brain, pancreas, and breast tumors.
CNN Helps Autism Debacle Blow Up in Government’s Face; Vaccine-Autism Link No Longer in Question
The case of Hannah Poling is raising quite a stir. She is now 9 years old. As a healthy and normally developing 18-month-old girl she showed up for her well baby visit and was pummeled with 9 vaccinations, two of them containing the mercury preservative known as thimerosal. Her health immediately deteriorated into full blown autism…
Popular shampoos contain toxic chemicals linked to nerve damage
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health have found a correlation between an ingredient found in shampoos and nervous system damage. The experiments were conducted with the brain cells of rats and they show that contact with this ingredient called methylisothiazoline, or MIT, causes neurological damage.
Which products contain this chemical compound MIT? Head and Shoulders, Suave, Clairol and Pantene Hair Conditioner all contain this ingredient. Researchers are concerned that exposure to this chemical by pregnant women could put their fetus at risk for abnormal brain development.
